THIS IS TAMI NEILSON! WITH VERY SPECIAL GUEST JAY NEILSON OCTOBER 2019 NEW ZEALAND TOUR

THIS IS TAMI NEILSON!

WITH VERY SPECIAL GUEST JAY NEILSON
OCTOBER 2019 NEW ZEALAND TOUR
Accompanied by Tami’s brother and longtime co-writer/collaborator Jay Neilson, the Big Boss Mama will bring her extensive songbook to the road this October. With 7 dates across New Zealand in a rare, up-close and personal show, fans can experience the songs acoustically, as they were written.

Growing up on the road as two fifths of Canadian country group The Neilsons, Tami and Jay were supporting the likes of Johnny Cash from a very young age. With a wealth of stories from the road, the pair are set to bring some smiles, laughs and tears as they tell the tales behind some of Tami’s biggest songs, like their Silver Scroll Award-winning ‘Walk Back to Your Arms’, as well as exclusively premiering brand new songs from Tami’s upcoming new album.

Happy to be coming home after a year of extensive international touring, and bringing the magic of family with her; this is one charmer of a live experience not to be missed.

Merrell Fankhauser's "Tiki Lounge Live" and "Eklectia" Double CD Release

Eklectia tracking # 9500 1156 3486 9161 6338 50

Both released in Jan.

"Tiki lounge Live" contains songs recorded live on my Tiki Lounge back lot stage over the past 7 years, features the last song written and recorded by Merrell & Ed Cassidy, "Out On The town". The CD is on the L.A 'Golden Lane Records' a subsidiary of 'Cleopatra Records'.

The other CD is "Eklectia' a 2 CD set with music and some interesting short interview soundbites, 17 bands from the U.S, Canada, and the U.K. that all claim their songs are inspired by ET's & UFOs!

A very interesting interview is featured by Grant Cameron, well known UFO researcher who's appeared on the TV show "Ancient Aliens". He talks about the influence of ET's & UFOs on music going back to groups in the '60s!

Some of these interviews might be fun to play on your program. My song leads off disc one with an introduction by the producer Joanna Summerscales. The cover is a parody of The Beatles "Sgt. Peppers" cover. They have 3 aliens down in front where the Beatles stood!  I'm up in the left corner just below Neil Young.

The songs getting most play are "Calling From A Star" , "Big White Triangle", "Travelers" and "Another Good Thought". I got those played on about 90 U.S stations so far as they fit the stations format. Also on about 50 stations that play me in Europe, and South America.

The London based label says they have it on about 120 stations in Europe now. There is a large variety of music styles on the CD.

Both CD's can be purchased direct from Ocean Records and signed by Merrell for $30 ppd., each, send check or postal money order to :

Ocean Records, PO Box 1504, Arroyo Grande, CA 93421

They are also available from several online sources. For more information:

Noam Chomsky - The Decision That Has To Be Made

[AR Upcoming] Noam Chomsky - The Decision That Has To Be Made

Re: Alternative Radio: Noam Chomsky

Noam Chomsky warns, “There has to be some kind of Green New Deal if we’re going to survive. The human species is facing questions which have never arisen before. Is organized human life going to survive in any recognizable form? We’re approaching the level of global warming of roughly 125,000 years ago, when sea levels were about 25 feet higher than they are now. You don’t have to have much of an imagination to know what that means. Well, shall we race towards it the way the Trump administration and the Republican Party wants us to do? Shall we do something about it, the way Sunrise Movement and Extinction Rebellion and Ocasio-Cortez want to do? That’s the decision that has to be made.”

Noam Chomsky, by any measure, has led a most extraordinary life. He practically invented modern linguistics. In addition to his pioneering work in that field he has been a leading voice for peace and social justice for many decades. Chris Hedges says he is “America’s greatest intellectual” who “makes the powerful, as well as their liberal apologists, deeply uncomfortable.” He is Institute Professor Emeritus in the Department of Linguistics and Philosophy at MIT and Laureate Professor of Linguistics and at the University of Arizona. At 90, he is still writing articles, doing interviews and lecturing. He is the author of many books, including Global Discontents with David Barsamian.

Missouri's State Sanctioned Sexual Assault Against Women who wants an abortion

In an exclusive, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow reports that a new Missouri state government ruling will force all women who are seeking an abortion to undergo a mandatory pelvic exam before the procedure, a move that Maddow likened to “state-sanctioned sexual assault.”
“As of last week, every woman seeking a legal abortion in Missouri is being told by the state that she must have a mandatory medically unnecessary vaginal examination by order of the state of Missouri,” Maddow said on MSNBC.

Ruby Nell Howell

You might remember Ruby Nell Howell’s story. She is a white woman who was employed by Kampgrounds of America in Starkville, Mississippi. They location is one of hundreds of privately owned KOA public campgrounds in the U.S. and Canada, where people can picnic, rent a cabin, and so on.
Anyway. When Howell saw a black couple, Jessica and Franklin Richardson, and their dog on the grounds, she told them they needed a reservation. While there are conflicting reports on whether a reservation is actually needed, that, in itself, isn’t newsworthy.
The newsworthy part is that she pulled a gun out. Over a reservation.
Richardson filmed the interaction and it went viral on social media. Obviously, a lot of people see a racist element in this story. Meaning: It’s hard to believe Howell would have pulled a gun out to ask a white couple to leave, whether a reservation was really required or not. The entire interaction reeks of implicit racial bias. And while no one was harmed physically, it’s still terrifying and traumatic to have someone pull a gun on you while you’re looking for a spot to picnic.
