WAM Needs to Hear From YOU!

Dear Sdc,It is the month of giving, where we celebrate the generosity of our community, as well as our staff, donors, and everyone involved at Women's Audio Mission. If you have been active on WAM's social media, you know that WAM kicked off our campaign to raise $200,000 by midnight on December 31 -- and we believe that by midnight tonight, we'll be10% of the way there because of your support! ($1500 to go to get there!)Your donation — or your fundraising campaign with your friends — will help WAM Change the Face of Sound! We also have:- a FREE SHOW TONIGHT  in San Francisco,- a request to hear what you want from WAM in 2023, and of course- marvelous updates on our programs all around!

YOU Power WAM

Why donate to Women's Audio Mission by midnight on December 31?

More than ever, women and gender-expansive people need our support. But don't take it from us, here's a word from a former WAM intern about why this work is important!"The Women's Audio Mission (internship) program allowed me to grow my technical and studio management skills. I received hands-on experience with studio consoles, learned about signal flow and studio equipment, and worked with clients."Help WAM support thousands of women, girls, and gender-expansive people to become the next #FaceofSound. 👉 wam.rocks/donate!

Here are a few different ways you can donate!

We have it on good authority from a musician in the know that donating to WAM will improve your day:

Girls on the Mic Team

Our GOTM team is known for figuring out ways to draw students in!Some reluctant participants at a GOTM school site developed a special interest in the activity yesterday - a WIN FOR TEAM GOTM!The Students at Greenleaf Elementary also started a podcast about "chisme" and that's not just gossip! We also had a very successful studio visit earlier this month, along with a small skill share this week on how to better utilize our newly donated Vodcasters in our programming. The learning never stops!

A Moment of Gratitude

Speaking of our Local Sirens show tonight...we want to give a shoutout this week to the Fleishhacker Foundation, wihch helped support our fabulous studio residency and live performance program this year and tonight's show at El Rio! This Bay Area Foundation is a vital part of the local arts ecosystem and is dedicated to supporting nonprofits with work that centers community, diversity, equity, inclusion, and innovation. We are honored to work with them to hire more local women and gender-expansive artists, ensembles, engineers, and producers to create and share their music!
On behalf of all of us at WAM, thank you for continuing to inspire us and for supporting WAM as – together – we #ChangeTheFaceOfSound! - Team WAM
