Lusi Austin

Lusi is a singer - songwriter located in the beautiful Central West of New South Wales,
Australia. Lusi grew up in a home in which music took centre-stage. Her mixed Fijian-
Australian heritage has naturally leant herself to being a lover of story and keeper of
family culture and history. After obtaining a B.A Drama Performance, Lusi and her
husband started raising their five children in the Blue Mountains before settling
together as a family further West.

As a song writer, Lusi believes in the power and beauty of the relationship
that melodies and poignant lyrics can have.

Lusi has sung live on ABC Central West radio, on Triple M Central West radio and was
the local featured artist in The Small's Hall's Tour when it reaches Woodstock NSW in
Jan 2020 with Jack Carty (Aus) and Siobhan Miller (Scot).

Lusi now enjoys entertaining local crowds in a variety of settings: from wine bars to
pubs and clubs, at weddings, to corporate events and intimate house parties. Her
eclectic mix of songs coupled with her willingness to read a room makes for an
enjoyable evening for patrons, venue owners and event organisers.

–Walking Contradiction

Walking Contradiction is Lusi’s first solo studio EP. The songs are a collection of
stories based on universal experiences of our shared humanity: love, nostalgia,
loneliness, letting go, overcoming and relinquishing control. Some of the songs are
based on Lusi’s own experiences and some are from stories gathered from others
around her. All were written by Lusi in stolen moments of quiet in her otherwise busy
homelife: a chorus of rhythms of daily life as a wife to one and a mother of five.


Lusi believes there is beauty to behold and tales to be told of the mundane moments
of life and relationship. The stories, the lyricism and the musicality of each song are
the most important parts for Lusi rather than trying to manipulate them stylistically for
the sake of fitting into one particular genre. As such you could say she writes in an
eclectic way which in and of itself can seem like a walking contradiction.
