Dear SMP Press Creators,
SMP Press, Universal Edition and Lorenz are excited to announce the winners of the Contemporary and Sacred Music categories of the 2019 SMP Press Composition Competition!
The Contemporary submissions were reviewed by juries of Universal Edition composers and promotional and editorial team members. The composers heading these juries were Jay Schwartz (Large Ensemble), George Arthur (Choral), James Rae (Small Ensemble), and Diego Collatti (Solo).

The winners will be receiving the following amounts:
+ Contemporary Music - Large Instrumental Ensemble: $1000
+ Contemporary Music - Choral: $800
+ Contemporary Music - Small Instrumental Ensemble: $800
+ Contemporary Music - Solo: $500
+ Sacred Music - Choral: $800
+ Sacred Music - Instrumental Ensemble: $800
+ Sacred Music - Solo: $500
All runners-up will be receiving $100.
In addition, special congratulations to Stephan Koncz and Daniel Chadburn. Stephan's string quartet arrangement of " Waltzing Matilda" and Daniel's piano arrangement of " Amazing Grace" achieved the highest sales of any qualifying contemporary and sacred pieces, respectively, in the months of August and September. Stephan and Daniel will each be receiving a $100 bonus in recognition of this achievement.
